Why most Longview builders pour concrete

Gunite bends to the yard. A sloping lot can take a raised wall or a spa that spills into the pool, a narrow lot can take a long thin pool, and sun shelves and benches go anywhere. Longview companies such as Precision Pools, CCH Pools and Caribbean Pools have built this way for years, so you can get several comparable bids.

From contract to swim

  1. Design, contract and the city permit, with any HOA sign-off
  2. Layout, checking the 5 ft setback and the 1:1 distance from the foundation
  3. Dig, set steel and plumbing, then spray the shell
  4. Cure while tile, coping and the deck go in, with inspections along the way
  5. Equipment and wiring, interior finish, fill and start-up

Ask for the schedule in writing with a weather allowance; a wet December can idle a crew for days.

Finishes and long-term care

Plain white plaster costs least; quartz and pebble finishes cost more and wear longer. Expect a replaster roughly every 10–15 years (estimate). Regular brushing and steady water chemistry stretch that out.

Concrete on slopes and wet ground

A reinforced shell handles uneven support better than other types, which helps where sand sits over slow clay. On a hill the builder may design part of the pool to stand above grade. Longview's 2026 amendment also applies to retaining walls: the pool's depth sets how far it must stay from a wall's footing, the same 1:1 ratio as for the house (Longview UDC).
